Modeling methods for prediction and recreation of the behavior of building structures subjected to mining influences

The effects of mining influences occurring on the surface area entail a requirement to plan exploitation taking into account both the protection of the surface and any type of built features as well as the infrastructure located in mining areas. This requirement refers to the skill of correct evaluation of the relationship between mining subsoil deformations and built feature behaviour, including deformations of the structure and its damage. Along with the increasingly common application of numerical modeling by description of the abovementioned issues, the essence should be evaluation of interactive behaviour of the built feature – mining subsoil system. The structure-indicated values of the mining influence effects are directly coupled with the method of transferring loads from the mining subsoil on the structure calculation model. This paper presents the issue of degree in which the effect assessment (with the assessment of meeting the serviceability limit state requirement) depends on the: – modeling method of the built feature – mining subsoil system, – description of the essential mining subsoil and – selection of essential model for a building structure
