Pracownia Projektowania Obudowy Chodnikowej i Utrzymania Wyrobisk funkcjonuje obecnie w strukturze Zakładu Technologii Eksploatacji, Tąpań i Oceny Ryzyka w GIG-PIB. Działalność Pracowni obejmuje wszystkie aspekty związane z projektowaniem odrzwi i akcesoriów, doborem obudowy, analizami wytrzymałościowymi obudowy. Przedmiotem działań są obudowy stalowe (odrzwiowe i kotwowe), betonowe (także torkretowe), drewniane i mieszane. W pracach projektowych wykorzystywane jest nowoczesne oprogramowanie CAD zarówno komercyjne jak i autorskie (ciągle rozwijane).

Laboratory of Road Support Design and Mine Workings Maintenance currently operates within the structure of the Department of Extraction Technologies, Rockbursts and Risk Assessment at GIG-PIB. Activities include all asects related to the design of support, arches and accessories, selection of support and its strength analyses. The subject of activities are steel (arch and anchor), concrete (including shotcrete), wooden and mixed supports. Modern CAD software, both commercial and proprietary (continuously developed), is used in the design work.
